INTRODUCING THE FORU

The only serious oil spill equipment for any oil spill

We want to develop preventive measures against pollution of our oceans, seas and lakes worldwide and subsequent damage to our maritime flora and fauna, thus enabling us to pass it on in good condition to our future generations.

Total solution
We offer a total solution to clean up oil spills. Our total solution includes booms, bladders, power packs and of course one of our mechanical down-draft systems; designed for near shore, harbor, river, lake and offshore conditions. Our down-draft systems can be deployed and stored without assembly. Either FORU system can be easily placed into the pocket of dynamic sweeping systems. At Foru-Solution we believe that oil spills must be recovered mechanically, dispersing oil does not remove the pollution from the marine environment.

Smart design
Our systems are designed to be easy to use, maintain and clean. Because of these features our down-draft systems have a high availability in case of an oil spill. Only little training is needed to teach your personnel how to work with our equipment. Due to smart engineering our down-draft systems are easy to disassemble and clean.

Robust system

The FORU down-draft systems are designed to function in rough waters. The smart designed buoy-shape makes the FORU stick to the waves and therefore makes it possible to operate the FORU in offshore conditions. Our systems are made of high grade materials and are 100% mechanical to withstand the severe offshore conditions.

Can debris get stuck in the FORU?
With the designing of the FORU systems extra care has been taken to design the FORU systems to handle all kinds and sizes of surface and below surface floating debris.

A set of debris handling measures have been taking to avoid the FORU systems from getting shut down as a results of debris.

Those measures conisists of an adjustable inlet opening and a pump that can handle debris up to 60mm

In the uncommon event of debris getting stuck in the FORU, the system can be dissassembled and assembled in no time.

Can the FORU handle waves higher than 2.5m?

In waves of over 2,5 meters the FORU-340 will still operate but it does affect the efficiency.

What are the effects of salty and humid environment on the FORU?
The effects of  a salty and/or humid environment on our FORU systemss are minimal to none. The FORU systems are made of marine grade materials to withstand the most severe offshore environments. Well performed cleaning and maintenance is obviously of utmost importance to ensure the life span of the FORU systems.

Foru-Solution offers a yearly maintenance program to ensure – and increase – the lifespan of the equipment.

Does the FORU also function at a lower capacities?
The FORU systems operate from 5 m3/h, up to a maximum of 340 m3/h.
What happens with the efficiency and capacity when oil gets thicker and/or has to be pumped higher?
We have developed a calculator for estimating the capacity of our FORU systems. These calculation are based on formulas, simulations and experience.
